Ben Lewis Overcomes the Unexpected to Help Team Meet Mid-Rise Timeline

Ben Lewis Plumbing won a contract to work with The Bozzuto Group to install new construction plumbing for their Arlington, Virginia mid-rise residential building, Garfield Park. The building was designed as a mix of residential units, retail space and a portion of live-work units above two levels of parking consisting of 280 spaces for commercial and residential use. When the Ben Lewis team came on-site to perform their portion of the work, they discovered the lowest level of parking was wet. After investigating the source, the Ben Lewis team uncovered a previously unknown underground spring that was creating a moisture problem for the project. Thinking creatively, the team dug a huge hole and funneled the spring water into it where it was constantly pumped out, collected and removed from the job site. The dewatering process was constant until the issue was resolved. The Ben Lewis team went on to seamlessly complete their plumbing work, helping the entire Garfield Park project team meet its mission critical deadlines.
